More About In Likeness Of You

My name is Timothy Baker and I love art. Ever since I could pick up a pencil, art was natural to me! This gift is very thick in my family's bloodline. My first taste in the wonderful world of caricatures was back in 2005 when I had the great opportunity to work for a caricature company in Bush Gardens Florida. Seeing the people of all shapes and ages and getting to create a fun filled experience for them while cartooning them was truly a exciting chapter in my life. When I was only about 4 years old, I finger painted my first cartoon. It was Superman. To me, it looked just like him. I am sure that it was probably a blob of red blue and pink, but I had so much fun doing that art project that I remember it to this day! I have had the great privilege to draw professionally for 6 years. Art has always been one of my great passions.

There are three attributes that I am thankful for having, which I believe helps to make in likeness of you stand out above the crowd of other artists.

The first, is that I know this is not only a talent but a gift given to me by God. If it was not for Him, I would not be who I am today!  And I always put Him first as a result.

Second, in addition the caricatures, I am able to offer face painting with bling, temporary waterproof glitter tattoos, real matte ink tattoos, henna tattoos, metallic jewelry tattoos, and airbrush painting with the help of my precious and truly talented wife, Andreea Baker. Because we are a husband and wife entertainment team and that we work great together, we are able to offer more talent to be enjoyed at all kinds of different venues.

The third attribute is not only my style of caricatures which is traditional and digital soft, or truly funny works of art  but the 5-star service we provide! We strive to make sure the clients who hire us are 100% satisfied with the work that we do. It is not about the money to us, although that helps, It is about the model that we go by which is, “Making you smile makes us smile!” we know that there are not enough smiles in today's world, so we try our best to help make a change with that by creating smiles wherever we go. After drawing over 10,000 caricatures and my wife's art impacting over 3,000 people, I have come to see that what we offer makes a joyful difference.

I love the fun experience with who ever I draw. It does my heart good to just have a enjoyable time getting to talk with each person. Hearing the stories helps me to create meaningful caricatures for them, and they walk away not only with their likeness, but with a keepsake to treasure for the rest of their lives that they can say, they had a smiling great time with me drawing them!

I have done many events. It has been a roller coaster of a ride drawing at huge companies, small birthdays, beautiful weddings and graduation parties. One of my most favorite events was for a Yahoo Christmas party last year! The reason why is because 14 years ago, I met my wife Andreea on a missionary trip to Romania. We dated long distance relationship for 2 and a half years through Yahoo messenger! I was able to share with the CEO of Yahoo,  this wonderful story that if it was not for their company, I would not have been able to establish a connecting relationship with my wife. The ocean is pretty big and for a long while, it separated my wife and I from being together! She replied by saying to me when they first were introduced to the idea of having a caricature artist for their Christmas party, she said she did not want to have one, but she was kindly convinced to hire me and than started to cry and say, now she knows why they hired me, so I could share with them that wonderful story!

The advice I would share is to put your client first above money! When a piece of paper is more important than a human being, there is a problem. Work with all your heart with the talents you have been given and the result will be truly happy and thankful people who you have had the honor to entertain! Respond right away to alerts that are sent to you, because as the saying goes, “the early bird gets the worm.” From the time that you first contact a possible client, establish meaningful communication and show them that you care for them and the request they have for their events! Email, and get your name out there, it is a lot of hard work, but if your desire is to use your talents to entertain, than you will do what needs to be done to make that happen! An entertainer needs to be entertaining! It is not just about the art, it is about the experience you provide from the first phone call of the client to the closing deal of professional profound performance!

“Making you smile makes us smile! “ That’s what it's all about to us, may it be the same for you!
